Lady Legs

For this installment of "DaForecast" I chose to focus on one of this season's more subtle trends. And what's more subtle then a slit up to a lady's caslopus?

That's right, slits. Slits are everywhere and, honestly, nothing but flattering. I find nothing sexier than a woman covered head to toe (yes, I mean burka) with one long leg revealed. Ta. Dow.

She might shank you in the parking lot but she still has the right to feel sexy, at Ann Demeulemeester
Mixed & Matched at Sophie Theallet
Baring all at Francesco Scognamiglio
Sleek in Satin at Peter Som
Right or Left, pick your pleasure at Emilio Pucci
Across the Board. Chalayan, Theysken, Kenzo.

Last but not least (two of my F12 standouts) Balmain & Prabal Gurung.

We'll be seeing that gold beauty in another installment on this season's partay fabric. Try not to let the suspense kill you.

Big Trouble in Lil China

Spring & pre-fall came & went and if I were to try to turn this into some sort of witty metaphor I'd go in some sort of international buffet type of shpeal cuz they be all multi-cultural up in here. As a matter of fact we're seeing this "ethnic" feel across the board which actually trickled over from the previous 2012 collections.

(I.E.)

Bringin it back to what's happenin here & now... Our dear friends the designers took a liking to the asian bistro aisle of said buffet and got all sorts of oriental on us.

Now, before you start bustin out your Madame Butterfly get ups from middle school (you know you have them) I recommend you keep those in the archives because what we've got on our hands is a whole 'nother beast.

Confucius say......

We'll see these translated in 3 different ways:

1. Graphic Tees : Duh, much like the long sleeve tunic at Dries Van Noten.
2. Mandarin collar + sheath dress: Mostly taken after the Jason Wu dresses
3. Traditional japanese landscape all-over prints: i.e. Proenza Schouler & Dries Van Noten.

Well that about wraps this one up, time to take the chopsticks out of our hair and get to steppin to the next trend.

Hasta Luego!

It's that Fall 2012 sh*t

We're about 2 weeks into fashion month and let me just tell you...... Forget it. There's too much for one sitting so I'm vowing to spend the rest of my sick sad life edumacating you on what's walking on the runways and how's it's gonna travel through the Bill & Ted's bogus worm-hole of the fashion cycle and end up in your very own closets. Bon Appetit.
